Cheera(Spinach) leaves 5 cups
Coconut grated
Green chillies 3 nos
Turmeric powder tsp
Cumin seeds(Jeerakam) tsp
Coconut oil 3 tbsp
Garlic pods 4 nos
Dry red chillies 2 nos
Plain rice 2 tsp
Mustard seeds 1 tsp
Salt to taste
Curry leaves A few
Pacha Cheera Thoran - Directions:
Clean the leaves well and chop it finely.
Grind together coconut, turmeric powder, green chillies, cumin seeds, garlic and curry leaves into a coarse form.
Mix together the chopped cheera along with the coconut mixture and salt.
Heat oil in a pan or a kadai.
Splutter mustard seeds and saut dry red chillies, rice and curry leaves.
Add the cheera-coconut mixture and mix well.
Cover and cook on a low flame for about 1 2 mins.
Remove the lid and continue cooking till done on a low flame itself.
