Beetroot 1
Moong Dal 1 cup
Tomato 2
Asafetoda a pinch
Curry Leaves a few
Corriander Leaves a few
Fenugreek a pinch
Oil 1 tbsp
Tamarind half the size of a lemon
Salt to taste
Water 4 cup
Coriander Powder 2 tsp
Chilli powder 1 tsp
Turmeric powder tsp
Beetroot Rasam - Directions:
Grate beetroot into thinly and cook.
Boil tamarind, salt and little asafetoda.
Add one cup of cooked mashed dal.
Mash half of the cooked beetroot and add to the above mixture, together with the remaining beet root.
Add water , tomato, curry leaves and coriander leaves and boil.
Add coriander,chilli,turmeric powder and let it boil for few minutes.
Season in oil with fenugreek, mustard and a pinch of asafetoda.
