Channa Dal Chutney - Ingredients:

Channa dal   cup
Fresh coconut pieces   cup
Green chillies  to taste
Ginger   inch
Salt  to taste
Oil  1 tsp
For seasoning:
Mustard seeds   tsp
Urad dal   tsp
Curry leaves  4
Oil  1 tsp
Channa Dal Chutney - Directions:
  1. Take a pan and heat with 1 tsp of oil.

  2. Add the channa dal, green chillies and ginger.

  3. Fry till they turn into golden yellow colour.

  4. Remove from heat.

  5. Allow it to cool.

  6. Add the fried ingredients, coconut pieces and salt in a mixer grinder.

  7. Grind to a fine paste.

  8. Transfer into serving bowl.

  9. In the same pan add 1 tsp of oil and heat.

  10. Add mustard seeds and urad dal.

  11. When they start to crackle add curry leaves.

  12. Add this to the chutney and mix well and adjust salt.

  13. Serve hot with idly, dosa.
