Sukhiyam - Ingredients:

Channa dal 2 cup.
Jaggery scraped 2 cup.
Cardamom 6
Scraped coconut 1/2 cup.
Raw rice 2 cups.
urad dal 1/2 cup.
Oil for frying.
Sukhiyam - Directions:
  1. Roast the scraped coconut and cardamom and keep aside.

  2. Cook channa dal till fairly tender and drain away excess water.

  3. Add jaggery to dal and cook till it sticks to dal.

  4. Add coconut and cardamom.

  5. Grind to paste and make balls of even (lemon size)size.

  6. Soak rice and urad dal in water for half and hour and grind smoothly to an even consistency batter that can be poured.

  7. Dip each ball in this batter and deep fry in oil till brown.
