Vellai Appam - Ingredients:

Raw rice 2 cups
Udad dhal  1/2 cup
Salt  to taste
Green Chillies   2-3 cut into small pieces
Ginger   3/4 inch Grated finely 
Baking soda   a pinch
Oil to fry
Vellai Appam - Directions:
  1. Soak rice and udad dhal together for 2 hours.

  2. Grind in the grinder like grinding for medu vada.

  3. Add green chillies and grated ginger to this mixture.

  4. Add salt and baking soda.

  5. Add oil in pan and heat in medium flame.

  6. Make small balls out of the batter and fry in oil.

  7. Turn over and fry again.

  8. Serve hot with any tomato onion chutney .
